Elastomeric bearings act as elastic load-transferring connections between structural elements which must be able to move or rotate relative to each other. They can be designed to transmit vertical and horizontal forces from the superstructure to the substructure, without constraints. They also accommodate rotations about any axis and-where appropriate-movements of the superstructure.
Classification
A. Laminated plate rubber bridge bearing
It is made of multi-layer rubber sheet and steel plate after bonding, mould pressing and vulcanization. With sufficient stiffness in vertical direction ,it can transmit the counter-force of the upper structure to the abutment reliably .And also it has good flexibility to adapt to the rotation of the beam end and shear deformation the horizontal displacement of upper structure.
The main function of laminated rubber bearing is transmitting the counter-force of the upper structure to the abutment reliably , and at the same time completing the required deformation of beam structure (horizontal displacement and diversion). Laminated rubber bearing has sufficient rigidity in the vertical direction to ensure the bearing will deform less even under maximum load in the vertical direction; rubber bearing has certain flexibility in the horizontal direction and it can adapt to the horizontal displacement caused by braking force, temperature, concrete shrinkage and load; meanwhile ,it also can adapt to the rotation of the beam end.
B.PTFE rubber bridge bearing
PTFE sliding rubber bearing is also called PTFE sliding bearing, such as (GJZF4, GYZF4 series ). It means adhere a layer of Teflon plate with thickness between 1.5mm-3mm on the surface of laminated rubber bearing. The use of Teflon sliding can make friction coefficient between the beam bottom become very low ,and make the horizontal displacement of the upper structure do not be limited by of shear deformation of the bridge bearing itself . In this way , it can meet the demands of large displacement bridge.Except the function of spherical cap bearing ,this product is especially applicable for large displacement bridge. The characteristics of PTFE sliding bearing are simple structure, low price, no need of maintenance, easy replacement, buffer and shock insulation, low building height and so on.
